Another lost Beach Boys project helmed by Brian Wilson.... but be warned, this ain't a "Smile".
"Adult Child" (a name that supposedly came from Dr. Landy) was set for release as a follow-up to "The Beach Boys Love You." Unfortunately (and you can decide if the 'un' is necessary), it fell afoul of critiques from the other Beach Boys - like "Smile," it was mainly a Brian Wilson product; and not necessarily their styles of music, particularly the big band tracks. So in the end, it wound up on the steadily growing pile of scrapped Beach Boys albums, with several of its tracks being doomed for good.
I'm not sure where this version came from - there are several floating around, including a so-called "Millennium Edition" in which the bootleggers took an artistic license in butchering the tracks. (You think that sounds bad, you should hear their "Smile"!) This is the original, untouched album however.
You can get it here, as 320Kbps MP3's:
The tracks:
01) Life Is For The Living
02) Hey Little Tomboy [yes, the Beach Boys really did wedge this onto four unused album line-ups before the final "MIU"!]
03) Deep Purple
04) H.E.L.P. Is On The Way
05) It's Over Now
06) Everybody Wants To Live
07) Shortenin' Bread [not the "L.A." version - and boy, is this one bad.]
08) Lines
09) On Broadway
10) Games Two Can Play
11) It's Trying To Say
12) Still I Dream Of It
This was the last request I had - any others?
